With autumn starting to cool things down in Pretoria, an escape to warmer parts was warranted. The Rhenosterpoort hiking trail provides just that, also mixing in some scenic views, including rolling hills, waterfalls, northern grasslands and bush-veldt.
The accommodation for both nights is well kept and equipped, with gas stoves and hearty fireplaces provided.
One note, we managed to finish both legs early in the afternoon, so I’d advise spending good time relaxing in well chosen lunch spots (of which there are quite a few, including a mini-gorge with waterfall and
rapids).
